Pregnancy Boobs

 Constant and I went to Motherhood Maternity Store in hopes of getting a couple of items for the trip and look for a new bra. I noticed that my boobs had been getting bigger and we're really starting to fill out ...rather fall out of my current size C bra. However, I hadn't noticed just how large they had gotten until the itsy tiny weenie sales associate offered to measure me (oh great, here we go I thought to myself). She started out by saying that I was very petite and skinny around.  Just to reemphasize, this little lady said I was "petite" and "skinny". She's obviously well trained in dealing with irrational pregnant woman. She could have been talking about my toe for all I know. After winning me over, she took the "main" measurement and eloquently told me that I had an F cup size. Who the heck wears an "F"? That's pretty much how I said that to her and she explained that an "F" was equivalent to a "DDD". Seriously, I think that my husband was the proudest man in the mall after hearing those letters. I hope they stop growing soon. There is no room for them anywhere!

Vaccines

I had an appointment with my Nurse Practioner, Maureen, from Whole Health Consultants today. Marureen's daughter is also pregnant and due in October. This is her third child and she's decided to use the Birthing Center and Midwife that I am using for the birth of her baby. I was really excited to hear this news. I have a great relationship with my NP and trust her with my life...it was almost a compliment that her daughter would use the same birthing center. I am excited to hear about her journey with a midwife as well.

We had a long discussion about immunizations today. Alternative Immunization Schedules are quite the buzz these days. There has been so much in the news media about the pros/cons of immunizing your child. It is my opinion that parents believe that they are doing the best thing for their child by having them immunized, but how many of these vaccines are really necessary. How many parents really spend any time doing any research on immunizations? I know that I have a lot of research to do regardless of the choice that we make.

Week 19- Wow, Baby Yu (The Large Hierloom Tomato) is Expensive!!

So never in my wildest dreams did I ever think children would be cheap, but at 19 weeks and 6 inches long and weighing in at approximately 8oz, not even able to influence me with their sparkling eyes and beautiful smile, I didn't think they would honestly cost so much (so early)!

We started off the week... late Sunday evening to be exact by purchasing Baby Yu's bedroom furniture. A very exciting endeavor to say the least, but one that put a dent in our bank account. After much research- no one should be surprised by now, I am in fact married to an Engineer--- we ended up going with Bonavita's LifeStyle Peyton Collection. I love it and the price was "affordable". We ordered the pieces in this picture except for the hutch.

I am not exactly sure how this happened, because I have been told that typically baby furniture takes anywhere from 8-10 weeks to come in, but ours will actually be delivered this Monday. All 490lbs of it.

We will be getting it about 20 weeks early. Talk about being prepared!

Thanks to http://www.mamabargains.com/ we were able to snatch our EasyWalker SKY stroller today. The stroller sells for $500 and we were able to get it for $130!! Now that is a deal!

Week 18- The Green Pepper

I spent the beginning of Week 18 in Atlanta. I was very fortunate to spend some time with Leah (My Cousin Justin's long time beautiful girlfriend). We caught up on life and it was really great to get some girl time in. I miss my girlfriends.

Leah, a fellow foodie, took me to an awesome organic/gluten free/healthy restaurant called R Thomas Delux Grill. I would highly reccomend the place if you're ever in Atlanta. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner along with some great juices and special teas!!! Thank you Leah!!! http://www.rthomasdeluxegrill.net/

I headed home Friday afternoon and had a very busy weekend.
We bought out first baby furniture item! Mom's out there, if you haven't already been to the http://www.mamabargains.com/ website...you have to check it out. They have 1 or 2 awesome items daily at highly discounted prices.

Constant has been eyeing this high tech Scandanavian highchair for some time now and it just happened to be a featured item this week..so we snatched it. It is actually pretty cool. The chair will grow/change with the child and it even holds up to 250 lbs!! Hopefully our baby never reaches 250lbs while living under our roof  :-)  I like it because it looks more like an actual piece of furniture and you can pull it up to the table so the child can eat with you if you wish.

In addition to buying this beautiful high chair, we (Constant) also finished the baby's room closet and hung up the baby's clothes!!! The closet kind of looks a little empty, but we were so excited to hang up the couple of outfits that we have purchased :-) I am sure this closet will be packed full in a couple of months.

Constant also installed a dimmer for the baby's room. This was a cheap little upgrade that we thought would be neat to have down the road. **Disregard the color of the walls, we have not painted them yet. **

Here is also a picture of the slider that we purchased around the Christmas time frame. The room is coming along slowly, but surely :-)

Week 17.4- The Trip To Atlanta

I am only a little over four months pregnant and this baby has already been to two countries and several different states...not just any country...but Japan! How many of you out there can say you have been to Asia? I wonder if this baby is going to be a traveler like his mom and dad. The funny thing is I really never traveled much until 2006 when I joined the Japan Program Office. Since then, I can't even count how many countries and states I have been to. I hope this baby isn't a Disney Fan. I've never been a fan of rides- the motion sickness always got in the way so I really can't see myself taking this baby to Disney...I can see a European vacation though...ok, enough day dreaming...I also just saw $$$$$ and my bank account in the red :-)
Back to Atlanta...This is my last business trip (I hope) for a very long time. At least long after the baby is born. Traveling while pregnant is just really tough...the luggage, the towing of the luggage, the people, blah blah blah...particularly when you are all by yourself. I have a lot of respect for pregnant woman who don't have any choice but to travel during pregnancy.

Luckily, my friend Katie loaned me Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy to read and occupy my time. Even if you are not pregnant, this is a hilarious quick read (even for dads!). The book is essentially the raw truth on the various unspoken "things" that can happen to woman during pregnancy. I say "things", but really I mean the horrible, rotten crap woman have to put up with during pregnancy (all for a wonderful cause of course). I love how honest and absolutely blunt Jenny is in her book. She discusses everything from sex during pregnancy to stretch marks and even pooing during pregnancy :-) A must read for any pregnant woman!

Week 17- The Onion

I went to the midwife (MW) earlier this week and we heard the heart beat for the second time. It was very; very exciting because the MW found the HB right away and it was so strong... Of course I cried again. I see a trend and insight into what's to come...the baby is only 17 weeks old I've cried so many times. By the way, the baby's HB was 144 :-) I searched the trusty ole internet to see if there is any truth to a baby's HB correlating with the gender, but according to my resources, it is an old wives tale. I think my co-workers are secretly making bets.

We also learned that we will find out the sex of the baby on April 14th during my next appointment. We debated on whether or not to find out the sex. Believe it or not, Constant really wants to know and I am on the fence. I caved though...it wasn't that hard :-) Besides making it easier for planning purposes, it will make it so much easier to only have to focus on coming up with either a boy or girls name. Do you know how hard it is to find names that sound good with "Yu"? Any ideas shoot them our way.
The rest of the visit went really well too. Everything is on track and lining up with where it is suppose to be. And for those of you tracking my weight, I only gained 1lb since last month :-)
I tried to have Constant take a picture of me to post this week, but I deleted it...no way will I be posting any pictures any time soon. Just put it this way, I didn't look like I only gained 1lb since last month. SCARY...not adorable yet :-) I only slightly have a bump. If you didn't know me, you would probably just think I was extra thick around the waist. Speaking of a thickening waist, I purchased the sexiest underwear ever at Target. I wasn't sure how large to go and not being familiar with the "Gillian & O'Malley" Brand (it just sounds funny) I just got the biggest size they had. Constant couldn't control himself when he saw these pretty little panties on me. Next time, I will skip Target and just go to the tent store. You gotta love pregnancy :-)

Week 16-The Avocado

Today was an awesome day. I turned 16 weeks and my dear friends Katie and Jon welcomed their first child into this world; Tyler Jonathan Whitney, 7lbs 10oz born at 8:02 am. 
I woke up with a message from Katie saying that her water had broke and she was in labor. That was at 1am....seven hours later, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. I only hope my labor is as quick and relatively easy (Maybe Katie would disagree about the quick and easy part)  :-)

Not only was this day great because Tyler was born, it was great because this was one of the first days in the last 7 weeks that I have not had morning sickness!! Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel!!!
No real changes this past week except the fact that I look and feel really, really chubby. I wish I was starting to look pregnant rather than just looking chubby...I know, I know...be careful what you wish for. In 4 weeks, I will be half way there!!!
